Job Overview We are seeking a skilled heavy duty mechanic with welding experience who can diagnose and repair a variety of commercial chemical and fuel tankers. Qualifications Reliable Ability to work in a fast paced environment Teachable and willing to learn Hard worker Proactive Self sufficient Duties Perform troubleshooting and repairs on tanks and trailers. Conduct DOT inspections (3 years experience with tanks) Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air and hydraulic systems. Diagnose and perform repairs on chassis components: suspension, brakes, wheel ends, etc. Create detailed service reports with description of work performed, parts used and time on job. Keep work area safe, clean and organized. Collaborate with team members and management to maximize productivity and efficiency. Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards Requirements 2 years Welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stainless and Aluminum) 2 years heavy duty truck/trailer mechanic experience. Ability to identify problems and solutions Ability to receive, process and execute instructions in a timely and accurate manner. Able to manage workload efficiently in a fast paced environment without constant oversight. Set of basic tools: including SAE sockets, wrenches up to 1", basic power tools, multimeter, etc. Works well with others, flexible in helping where needed and comfortable occasionally communicating with customers. Capable of bending, maneuvering and positioning safely while working on tanker trailers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety High School Diploma (Required for certain DOT certifications) Forklift certified. Preferred but not required Fabrication experience is preferred.
