The mechanic performs tasks involving physical labor on highway and heavy construction machinery including dozers, trucks, diesel trucks, and other machinery as needed. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools. The position may assist other workers as required. Duties and responsibilities Supports all labor activity involved in maintaining our fleet of equipment Day to day tasks vary between new equipment build, shop and field repairs and service. Diesel engine, electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and welding on equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as required. Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
