Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation company. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality on-site. Your expertise will help drive project progress and contribute to the successful completion of underground projects. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, bobcats and other machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks Assist with pipe and storm drain installations. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Follow detailed instructions from supervisors to execute excavation, site preparation, loading/unloading operations, and site cleanup Assist with setting up construction sites by positioning machinery accurately and preparing work zones for various activities Adhere strictly to safety protocols and construction regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and bobcats in a construction environment Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting techniques Experience working on construction sites with familiarity in earthmoving and grading operations Valid driver’s license (DL) is a must! Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices for equipment operation Ability to read drawings is a plus Prior experience working with heavy equipment is a must!
