General Statement of Duties The successful candidate will provide classroom and clinical instruction to high school students at the ACE Center at Hermitage, and at clinical site locations as scheduled. The individual in this position must have an understanding of the diverse needs of students. The teacher should have high expectations of students and provide instruction in a manner that motivates students to learn, raise self-esteem, and result in outcomes important for successful living. The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. The Successful Candidate Will Be Required To Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to meet individual and group learning needs utilizing state guidelines and division curriculum. Regularly exhibit considerable knowledge of learning theory and best practices. Consistently act in the best interests of students and model appropriate behavior in all professional interactions. Use personal entrepreneurial experiences to enhance instruction Use entrepreneurial theory and application in the classroom and the community Develop and enhance employment soft skills Essential Duties The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Professional Expectations Utilizes the Curriculum Guide of the school in organizing instructional plans Secures and prepares instructional materials in advance and shows written evidence of preparation Utilizes multimedia and community resources Provides classroom, lab and clinical instruction for assigned students Demonstrates a knowledge of subject matter Diagnoses and develops plans for the learning problems of students appropriate to the level of achievement Evaluates progress in classroom and laboratory by observation and testing Implements all curriculum programs adopted systemwide in a positive and efficient manner Establishes clear objectives for all learning experiences and communicates these objectives to students Makes use of a variety of resources, materials, and methods in an effort to improve the effectiveness of instruction Keeps students informed of progress Keeps required records for student files Shares information about student progress with coordinator, faculty, and parents as applicable Returns materials to their assigned place or designated personnel promptly after use Emphasizes and enforces safety factors within the classroom, building, and throughout school property Acts as a role model for students Serves as an advisor for HOSA (CTSO), implementing activities to help the student develop leadership, interpersonal and career skills Maintains a practice of good housekeeping for self and students to improve the learning environment Cooperates with administrative and supervisory staff in the evaluation process Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Must possess a teaching license in this field or be eligible for a VDOE Technical Professional certification. Eligibility Will Be Determined By The Following Graduate from a state accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of VA with multi-state privileges. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred; Master's degree and teaching license are preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse are required within the previous five years and at least one year of direct client care or supervisory experience in the provision of long term care serv
