The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(COTA)is responsible for providing rehabilitativeoccupational therapy treatmentsandservices forourhome health patientswhoneed assistance and training in ambulation, transferring, gait training,and home exercise programs. This TherapyAssistantrole willwork under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist in accordance with the Home Health Plan of Care. The role will bepart of the interdisciplinary home care team including RNs, PTs, SLPs, MSWs,and Home Health Aides. Requirements For The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant(COTA) Be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) or its successor organizationsand be certified by the AOTA as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Have aMinimum of two years’ experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with community/home health experience preferred. Maintain a current license to practice as a COTA from the Commonwealth of PA or have made application for same. Be eligible to take or have successfully completed the entry-level certification exam for Occupational Therapy Assistants as administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Possess a valid PA Driver License and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with PA state requirements. Meet all physical requirements of the position and deal effectively with stress. Maintaina professional attitude and demeanor and be able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors,andco-workers.
