Home Health Speech Language Pathologist

Responsibilities Conduct client screenings or assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, or hearing and/or swallowing disorders as requested by physicians.Provide therapeutic treatments for speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders with appropriate tests and measurements.Collect and compile data to document clients' performance or assess program quality.Document daily treatments including assessment of meeting homebound criteria, and demonstrating progress towards goals and appropriate focus toward discharge planning.Apply concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board and participate in in-service programs.Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to advise and consult with the family and other agency personnel as appropriate.Promote Agency philosophy and administrative policies.Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency, Work Experience:Prior Home Health experience preferred or a minimum of 1 year hospital or skilled nursing facility required.Comfort and familiarity in working with geriatrics and dementia.Education:Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree Skills:Specialty certifications regarded highly.Job Types:Per diem, Contract Pay:$80.00 - $140.00 per hour Benefits:Flexible schedule Referral program Medical Specialty:Home Health Education:Master's (Preferred) License/Certification:SLP License in Texas (Required) Work Location:On the road.
