Horse Groom

In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health, cleanliness, and overall well-being of our horses. Your dedication will ensure that each horse receives top-quality handling and care, creating a safe and comfortable environment for both animals and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with horses, develop animal handling skills, and contribute to a thriving equestrian facility. Responsibilities Tack and untack horses for lessons. Must be proficient tacking both english and western. Feed according to schedule set by barn manager. Handle horses safely during daily activities, including longeing, turn out, round pen and sun pen. Monitor horses’ health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or injury to barn manager promptly Support veterinary technicians with routine procedures such as administering medications or assisting during examinations Maintain clean and tidy barn area. Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving feed bags, equipment, or horses within the facility when required Experience Prior experience in horse handling is required Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus Familiarity with equine care practices and handling techniques is preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong customer service skills are valued for interacting with clients and visitors This paid position provides comprehensive training opportunities to enhance your skills in animal care and handling.
