Horticulture - Perennial Sales & Maintenance

Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses, a top 50 garden center, nursery & landscape firm, is looking for a knowledgeable sales associate to work in our Perennial Department.Duties include but are not limited to:Selling Perennial plants, some Trees & Shrubs, Annuals Merchandising plant material on benches and displays Daily watering and basic plant care Some planting Assisting in shipping and receiving of plant material Pricing new plant material Loading of customer vehicles Checking out customers via Point-of-Sale system Communicating with customers about current availability via phone and email Inventory tracking Adding Signage to plants and plant displays.Applicants should:Be a motivated self-starter Be ready to work in a team environment Have exceptional communication skills.You should be a people person Prior sales experience a must Having good working knowledge of plants and best management practices in the landscape is a huge plus Be able to lift 25lbs repeatedly Enjoy working outside in a variety of weather conditions Have a valid driver's license Prior garden center experience preferred but not required An education in horticulture is a plus Bilingual, English and Spanish is a plus Job Type:Full-time March - December Salary:$22-$27 an hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule:8 hour shift Overtime Saturdays and some Sundays during busy seasons Ability to commute/relocate:Greenwich, CT:Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) License/Certification:Driver's License (Required) Work Location:In person Job Type:Full-time Pay:$22.00 - $27.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Experience:Horticulture:2 years (Preferred) Sales:2 years (Required) Language:English (Required) Spanish (Preferred) License/Certification:Driver's License (Required) Ability to Commute:Greenwich, CT 06830 (Required) Work Location:In person.
