Job Summary Roots Landscape is a premier landscape design/build firm serving the greater Philadelphia area.We are seeking a passionate and energetic Horticulturist/Gardener to join our team.Roots Landscape is dedicated to cultivating beautiful, healthy landscapes and vibrant plant environments.In this role, you will be responsible for the professional care and management of residential and commercial gardens.Our Horticulturists maintain and enhance container plantings, outdoor gardens, and landscaped areas.This position requires an understanding of seasonal changes in the garden and the cultural requirements of plants.The Horticulturist ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and according to company quality standards.They provide excellent service to our clients through their expert horticultural practices and attention to detail.Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment Background Check and Drug & Alcohol screening.Roots Landscape adheres to the regulations of the DHS I-9 E-Verify Program.Duties Maintain and enhance diverse garden styles with precision and care Complete all garden maintenance tasks including seasonal color installation, weeding, deadheading, and cutbacks.Utilize proper pruning techniques for plant health and appearance Monitor plant health regularly, identifying pests or diseases early and applying treatment as needed Exercise a creative design aesthetic for seasonal container plantings Demonstrate familiarity with irrigation systems and the diverse watering needs for plants Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills Serve as on-site contact for clients when necessary Address and resolve on-site challenges proactively Work as a team with an assistant, other horticulturists and managers to foster a positive work environment Requirements Excellent identification of plants and their care Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or related fields with hands-on knowledge of plant care techniques A minimum 4 years of experience in the green industry is preferred Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift at least 40 pounds Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions A valid driver's license Pay:$22.00 - $28.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) matching AD&D insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
