Our client, a leading healthcare provider specializing in comprehensive palliative and hospice care, is hiring a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician . As a key provider, you will manage a panel of patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the mission of ensuring dignity, peace, and comfort for patients at the most critical moments of their lives. You will also have the chance to be involved in program development, research, and educational initiatives aimed at positioning the organization as a regional and national leader in palliative care. Responsibilities: Manage a panel of approximately 20 patients, providing symptom management, care planning, and family engagement. Participate in hospital-based interdisciplinary team activities, including rounding, documentation, and care coordination. Provide consultation and support for inpatient and outpatient palliative care needs. Assist in program growth initiatives, including potential leadership roles in quality and educational development. Respond to urgent clinical situations and participate in complex conversations with patients and families. Support continuous quality improvement efforts and clinical innovation, including participation in committees. Assist in mentoring and training junior staff and learners to foster a culture of excellence and compassion. Requirements: Medical degree from an accredited institution. Current New York State License and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Practice; or demonstrated equivalent training. Competence in caring for patients with advanced cancer and complex palliative needs. Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on compassionate patient interactions. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend coverage. COVID-19 vaccination strongly encouraged prior to start date.
