Position Overview The Hospice Nursing Director provides strategic and clinical leadership across hospice operations, ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe, and consistent patient care. This leader serves as a clinical expert and advocate, driving best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement across all service lines. You will oversee multiple clinical departments including inpatient hospice, home care, admissions, and education, while partnering closely with operational leadership to align clinical excellence with organizational goals. This role also serves as a key leadership backup, stepping in for senior clinical leadership when needed. What You Will Do Provide overall clinical leadership for hospice services, setting the standard for patient care and outcomes Lead, mentor, and develop managers and clinical leaders across multiple departments Partner with executive and operational leadership to plan, organize, and staff clinical teams effectively Drive a culture of accountability, compassion, and service excellence Oversee clinical operations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory standards Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources Champion staff retention and engagement strategies in an already highly stable environment Identify and implement education and training programs to maintain clinical excellence Lead quality improvement initiatives and support policy development Step into senior clinical leadership responsibilities when needed What Makes This Opportunity Special Strong, supportive leadership team that values collaboration and transparency Long tenured staff and extremely low turnover Mission driven work with a direct impact on patients and families Established infrastructure with opportunities to influence and improve A culture that prioritizes both clinical excellence and employee wellbeing Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred Current, unencumbered Georgia RN license Minimum of 3 years of senior level leadership experience At least 3 years of hospice experience required Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and compliance standards Proficiency with healthcare systems and technology Valid driver’s license and active automobile insurance Preferred Experience Master’s degree in Nursing or related field Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Experience leading multi site or multi program clinical teams Proven success managing both clinical outcomes and business operations Key Skills and Attributes Compassionate, patient centered leadership style Strong clinical judgment and decision making ability Ability to lead through complexity and emotionally sensitive situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to build, develop, and retain high performing teams Strong organizational and time management skills Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning Collaborative approach across interdisciplinary teams Work Environment and Schedule This role combines both office and field based work, including site visits and occasional offsite meetings. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed based on operational demands.
