Position Type: Student Support Services Date Posted: 4/9/2026 Location: Albany High Complex POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT April 9, 2026 POSITION: Hospital/Homebound Special Education Teacher (K 12) LOCATION: Albany High Complex JOB SUMMARY: The Hospital/Homebound Special Education Teacher provides individualized instructional services to students with disabilities who are unable to attend school due to medical or psychological conditions. This role ensures continuity of learning by delivering standards-based instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), collaborating with school staff, families, and medical providers, and supporting students' academic progress during periods of absence. This position requires flexibility, strong instructional skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple settings, including home, hospital, and virtual environments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field, required; Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Special Education (P 12), required; Experience working with students with disabilities across diverse learning needs; Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of special education law, including IDEA and IEP compliance; Ability to design and deliver individualized, standards-based instruction in non-traditional settings; Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple student schedules;
