Job Description
The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine and on the UC Davis campus, with 11 Divisions divided by sub-specialty. The Department includes approximately 450 academics and 250 staff. The Division of Hospital Medicine is a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year service with a primary role of evaluation admissions from the emergency room as well as outside referral of patients. The Division consists of 14 faculty, 45 staff physicians, and 3 administrative staff. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Act as an attending physician on a nonteaching inpatient service, as an attending physician on a general medicine teaching services, supervising medical students and residents. Each Hospitalist's standard responsibilities includes a minimum of 182 shifts per year of direct patient care. Night shifts are included in the 182 shifts per year of direct patient care. The group covers 365 night shifts yearly, divided amongst the members of the group.
