Job Description
Reports to : HR Director Job Summary The People Operations Generalist will play a critical role in day-to-day people operations across various locations and within the HR team. This role will coordinate a range of HR activities and partner with the rest of the HR team and management to support employees throughout their lifecycle and in their daily interactions. Activities include managing daily employee lifecycle processes and regularly interacting with employees to deliver exceptional customer service through the employee experience. This position requires hands-on involvement, employee engagement, and a commitment to aligning with the company culture and its mission. Primary Duties Manage our HRIS (UKG Ready) to ensure data integrity, optimize system performance, and troubleshoot as needed. Serves as the primary point of contact for addressing employee questions and concerns related to HR policies and company benefits. Enhances visibility of the HR department by developing strong working relationships with employees. Lead in administering employee benefit programs, including enrollment, life events, audits, and compliance reporting. Process payroll and run reports on a weekly basis. Create and ensure that HR files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures. Oversee leave programs (e.g., FMLA) and manage ADA accommodations. Maintain employee recognition programs, including the service awards program. Conduct I-9 verifications and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Execute tasks related to preboarding, onboarding, and conduct new hire orientation, ensuring all required documents are received and that procurement of any necessary hardware or access is completed. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring process for qualified job applicants in open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to determine the skills and competencies required for each role. Support implementation of HR tools and processes. Counsel managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews, and recommending changes. Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Ensures and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve people operations workflows. Assist the HR Director and HRBP with coordinating employee development programs and work assessments. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Communicate with the HR Director to stay informed about trends, risks, and more serious issues. Perform other duties as assigned. A firm grasp of HR best practices and current regulatory compliance. Self-directed and possesses a high level of productivity and personal organization while dealing with frequent interruptions. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal. Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; computer literate. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality. Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to effectively present information to employees and management. Travel 10-20% - ability to travel to our other locations in Texas, Florida, and North Carolina. Bilingual in English and Spanish to support a diverse population effectively. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 3-5 years of human resource experience with an emphasis on payroll, employee engagement, investigations, and coaching. Payroll processing experience is required, preferably with UKG Ready. Experience with supporting manufacturing operations. Experience supporting employee relations.
