Job Title: Human Resources Assistant (Part-Time) Employment Type: Part-Time (Weekends Required) Reports To: Owner Position Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to ensure efficient HR functions within the organization. This role partners closely with the Owner, Operations Manager to support employee relations, compliance, payroll processes, performance management, and HR reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident managing sensitive HR processes from hire through separation. Key Responsibilities · Verify and audit employee timesheets for accuracy and compliance weekly · Assist with payroll preparation and ensure proper documentation is submitted · Track employee attendance and maintain accurate attendance records · Monitor and communicate HR metrics (attendance, trends, compliance) directly to the owner · Conduct initial candidate screenings and support the interview process-you will be supported by an HR Consultant · Lead and coordinate employee terminations in partnership with management and HR Consultant · Request and track final termination checks in compliance with California timelines · Assist the Operations with performance management and disciplinary processes · Support employee relations by addressing basic inquiries and escalating concerns as needed · Maintain accurate and organized employee records; ensure strict compliance with recordkeeping requirements · Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and file management · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California wage and hour regulations · Assist in implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures · Serve as a point of communication between employees, owners, operations managers, and the HR Consultant · Provide general administrative support to HR operations Qualifications · 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field · Basic knowledge of payroll processes and timekeeping systems-ADP preferred. · Experience supporting employee relations, interviewing, and terminations · Understanding of HR compliance, policies, and procedures · Familiarity with California wage and hour laws preferred · Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus-not required. · Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping (required) · Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism · Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, owners, and operations managers Preferred Skills · Experience working with small businesses in fast paced environments · Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines · Strong organizational and documentation skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, outlook and/or gmail Work Environment & Expectations · Part-time schedule with weekend availability required · Fast-paced environment supporting multiple HR functions · Must be detail-oriented with strong follow-through · Ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization, including direct reporting to ownership · High level of accountability, discretion, and professionalism Pay: $20.50 - $24.50 per hour Benefits 401(k) Experience: Human resources: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
