Job Description
🎯 HR Manager (a.k.a. Workplace Wizard) – Salt Lake City, UT 💰 $100,000 – $140,000 | 🏭 Manufacturing | 🧑 🤝 🧑 People-First Chaos Coordinator Let’s be honest: every workplace needs that one person who can handle policies, personalities, and the occasional “we need to talk” moment —all before lunch. That person might be you. We’re on the hunt for a Human Resources Manager who can balance strategy with real-world plant life, partner with leadership, and still remember everyone’s name (or at least fake it convincingly). The environment: A busy manufacturing operation (yes, things run 24/7… coffee helps ☕) ~100 employees, union environment Based in the plant (this is not a “hide behind email” HR role) You’ll have one direct report and plenty of personalities to keep things interesting You’ll report to HR leadership, with a strong partnership with site operations What You’ll Be Doing: Besides Being Everyone’s Favorite Person… and Sometimes Not) Act as the go-to human for all things HR—employees, leaders, and everything in between Partner with site leadership to shape culture, talent strategy, and long-term plans Lead recruiting efforts—because great teams don’t build themselves Navigate employee & labor relations like a pro (yes, including the tricky conversations) Conduct investigations, resolve issues, and keep things fair, compliant, and drama-minimized Coach leaders so they become better leaders (and occasionally better listeners) Roll out HR programs that actually make sense in the real world Track, analyze, and use data to drive smarter people decisions Continuously improve processes—because “that’s how we’ve always done it” isn’t your style What You Bring: 8+ years of HR experience, with solid time spent in manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environments Confidence handling labor relations and employee relations without breaking a sweat A knack for influencing people without sounding like a corporate training video Strong communication skills—you can explain policies and calm nerves Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (Master’s is a nice flex) Extra Gold Stars If You Have: SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification Experience leading teams and developing talent A track record of thriving in fast-paced, ever-changing environments The ability to stay calm when things get… let’s say “dynamic” Why This Role? Because you won’t just “support HR.” You’ll shape how the entire operation runs from a people perspective —from culture to compliance to leadership development. Also, where else do you get to use strategy, psychology, analytics, and conflict resolution… all in the same day? For confidential consideration, please reach out to Aileen@thehiringadvisors.com
