Job Description
Position Overview We are looking for a hands-on, execution-focused HR Specialist to support day-to-day HR operations across our U.S. business. This role is highly operational and detail-driven, with a strong emphasis on compliance, accuracy, responsiveness, and accountability . The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment , managing high volumes of transactional work while ensuring strict adherence to California labor laws and company policies. Key Responsibilities 1. Employee Lifecycle & Data Management Independently manage onboarding, offboarding, and all employee status changes (promotion, transfer, compensation changes, etc.) Ensure all employee documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with federal and California requirements Maintain clean, audit-ready employee records at all times 2. Timekeeping & Payroll Execution Own day-to-day timekeeping data review and validation, including: meal/rest break compliance overtime accuracy attendance irregularities Work closely with operations and payroll teams to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Ensure payroll inputs are accurate and delivered on time with minimal error tolerance 3. Benefits Administration Execute benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations with high accuracy Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits in a clear and timely manner Support benefits program administration and continuous improvement 4. Compliance & Risk Control Ensure strict compliance with California labor laws , including wage & hour regulations Proactively identify and flag compliance risks (e.g., timekeeping issues, documentation gaps) Support internal audits and compliance reviews when required 5. HR Support & Execution Provide responsive, solutions-oriented HR support to store operations and internal stakeholders Handle high-volume HR inquiries with professionalism and efficiency Execute additional tasks and projects assigned by leadership without close supervision Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (HR or related field preferred) Minimum 1–2 years of HR operations experience (must be hands-on, not purely administrative exposure) Strong working knowledge of California labor laws , especially: meal & rest break compliance overtime rules wage & hour requirements Experience with HRIS systems required; ADP or Rippling preferred What We Are Looking For (Critical Traits) Strong execution ability – able to deliver accurate work under pressure with minimal supervision High attention to detail – low tolerance for errors in payroll, compliance, and documentation Strong ownership mindset – takes responsibility and follows through Logical and structured thinking – able to identify issues and propose solutions High adaptability – comfortable in an evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment High stress tolerance – able to handle workload peaks and urgent requests Willingness to support extended hours when business needs require Comfortable working with cross-cultural and cross-time-zone teams Work Arrangement Remote work until November 2026 due to office setup Required to work onsite 5 days/week in Irvine, CA after office opening Important Notes This role requires a high level of accountability and responsiveness This is not a purely administrative HR role — candidates are expected to own execution and deliver results Candidates who are not comfortable with a fast-paced, high-demand environment may not be a fit
