EXAMPLE OF DUTIES The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Prepares personnel action forms and related documentation with respect to newly hired employees, resignations, retirements, dismissals, and any change in status or pay.Responsible for recruitment functions including job vacancy postings, initial screenings and interview assistance. Maintains applicant files and performs preliminary review of applicants' qualifications and coordinates Civil Service applicant testing. Maintains current candidate eligibility lists and transmits listing to department heads.Reconciles monthly health, dental and life/LTD insurance bills for employees, dependents, COBRA participants and retirees. Process all benefits additions or revisions and coordinate all COBRA documentation and correspondence.Assists employees in the interpretation of benefits by answering questions regarding coverages, assisting in completion of necessary paperwork, and analysis of coordination of benefits i.e., LTD, Pension, Health, Dental, Life, and 457 plan.Coordinates and conducts employee education and training for any new HR benefits, processes, or software as needed. Maintains electronic records and document management for employees. Maintains accurate information in HRIS software.Conducts employee orientation, onboarding and checkout.Revises and creates job descriptions, as required.Establishes and maintains comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPS), for all position job duties, ensuring clear documentation of processes and best practices. Performs related work as assigned.
