HVAC Installer Technician (DC Only)

C M Heating & Cooling specializes in HVAC services for commercial and residential clients throughout the Washington, D.C. area only. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Installer Technician to join our growing team. Job Description Our HVAC Technicians perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, and alteration of HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing HVAC systems, replacing equipment, and working alongside installation crews on residential and light commercial projects. This position is best suited for technicians with strong installation knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to complete projects safely and efficiently. Scope of Responsibilities Install residential and light commercial HVAC equipment including condensers, air handlers, furnaces, heat pumps, mini splits, and package units Perform full system replacements and new installations Install and modify copper line sets, drain lines, thermostats, ductwork, and ventilation components Assist with equipment startup and system testing to ensure proper operation Read and follow installation layouts, job specifications, and manufacturer guidelines Perform basic troubleshooting during installation when necessary Maintain clean and organized job sites Communicate with installers, field supervisors, dispatchers, and office staff regarding project status Ensure all work meets local code requirements and company quality standards Safely operate tools and installation equipment Train and assist helpers or junior installers when assigned Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED EPA/CFC Universal Certification preferred Minimum 3–5 years of HVAC installation experience Experience with residential replacement systems and light commercial installations Knowledge of HVAC tools, brazing, vacuum procedures, charging systems, and startup procedures Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in attics, crawl spaces, and rooftops Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and complete installations efficiently Valid driver’s license preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required Job Details Full-time position Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts Some Saturdays may be required Overtime available Different job sites throughout the DMV area Compensation based on experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
