Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the optimal operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across our facilities. As a vital member of our property maintenance crew, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of HVAC and mechanical equipment to create safe, comfortable, and efficient environments. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot complex issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify root causes of system failures. Repair or replace faulty components including compressors, motors, valves, pumps, and electrical wiring while adhering to safety standards. Conduct HVAC system design modifications or upgrades as needed to improve efficiency or meet new specifications. Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance logs for compliance and future reference. Operate specialized tools such as welding equipment or ammonia refrigeration systems with precision and safety awareness. Assist with property maintenance tasks including appliance repair, welding repairs, plumbing fixes, and general mechanical support across various facilities. Requirements Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a solid understanding of HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems and mechanical principles. Hands-on experience in construction environments or field service roles involving equipment repair and maintenance. Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles (including ammonia refrigeration), and boiler operation. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately; familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters is essential. Mechanical aptitude complemented by welding skills and experience working with diverse tools and machinery. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred for transportation needs. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently under pressure.
