Job Description
Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU RN (Registered Nurse) to provide exceptional critical care nursing services at a partner medical facility in Petoskey, MI. As an ICU RN, you will care for patients experiencing life-threatening conditions, requiring continuous assessment, rapid decision-making, and advanced nursing interventions. This role is ideal for nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and who thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. In this position, you will be responsible for the comprehensive care of critically ill patients, including those with complex cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and multi-system conditions. You will perform frequent and detailed assessments, monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status, manage ventilators, titrate vasoactive medications and drips, and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition. You will collaborate closely with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Your role will involve administering medications and treatments with precision, following physician orders and ICU protocols while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards. You will provide care for patients with invasive lines, arterial lines, central venous catheters, chest tubes, and post-operative monitoring needs. As an ICU RN, you will also participate in rapid response and code blue situations, applying advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) skills and critical thinking under pressure. Clear, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record is an essential part of the role, as is effective communication during handoffs and with patients’ families. You will educate and support patients and their loved ones, explaining conditions, treatments, and expected outcomes, while offering compassionate guidance in highly stressful and sometimes end-of-life situations. Working through Capstone Healthcare Staffing, you will join an organization with a culture of care and dedication, prioritizing quality placements and supporting both clients and healthcare professionals. You will benefit from a supportive staffing partner that values professionalism, reliability, and clinical excellence. This opportunity offers the chance to grow your skills in critical care, expand your experience in the healthcare staffing industry, and gain exposure to diverse clinical settings while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse with current ICU or critical care experience, strong assessment and technical skills, and the ability to remain calm and organized in high-acuity situations. A commitment to teamwork, patient advocacy, and continuous learning is essential. This role typically involves rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on facility needs, and may be structured as a full-time contract assignment with potential for extension or additional placements through Capstone Healthcare Staffing.
