The Northampton Public Schools is seeking Afterschool Staff! ALL FOUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IGNITE PROGRAM - STAFF After School Program - Caregiver Staff Inspiring Growth Nurturing Innovation Teaching Enrichment Part-time: 21.25 Hours per weekMonday through Friday from 2:15 p.m. 6:30 p.m. Start date: August 26, 2026 School year position Non-Contracted Staff: $18.54 - $25.00 per hour based on experience Teachers - $35.00 per hour per contract Paraeducators - $20.86-$33.44 per hour per contract There will be an orientation prior to the start date. The Northampton Public Schools is seeking Part-Time staff to join the IGNITE After School Program! The program offers extended-day childcare in all four elementary schools for students in Grades K-5. The program provides quality, affordable childcare services with enrichment opportunities and runs daily Monday through Friday from 2:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The program aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children feel heard and empowered to be themselves. Our staff engage students in meaningful interactions with peers and model positive communication. We believe that ample physical and mental activity, creative outlets, as well as unstructured playtime are key to building a positive after school community, and that enrichment opportunities and social emotional work support intellectual growth. We prioritize building relationships with individual students and caregivers, and we take a restorative approach to conflict resolution.The staff is responsible for leading games, art projects, and activities with the children, while monitoring the safety of all students in the program. We work with our staff to find your interests, and help you develop and lead activities that you enjoy!Essential Functions: Arrive on time at 2:00 p.m. to check students into our program at school dismissal time.Lead activities for small and/or large groups, and monitor students safety at all times.Model positive behavior and communication skills.Be responsive to students needs and interests - problem solving and conflict resolution as needed.Preferred: Ability to plan and facilitate group games and activities with groups of 8-12 children, and/or assist/collaborate with other staff for larger groups.Interest in Restorative Practices, Mindfulness, Gratitude Practices, working outdoors all seasons with kids, social justice, theater/art/music with kids, Coding/Robotics, and/or other STEM fieldsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and some experience working with elementary school aged children.Become certified in CPR and First Aid.Benefits: This is a school year position with no benefits.
