Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an In-Home Direct Support Professional in Forest Grove, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. This energetic and rewarding position involves providing personalized care, fostering community engagement, and supporting daily living activities. Your compassionate approach will help clients achieve their goals while promoting safety, independence, and well-being within their home and community environments. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and dignity. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, including positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral health interventions. Support communication efforts using various methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), to ensure effective interaction and understanding. Facilitate community outings, appointments, and recreational activities to foster social integration and community involvement. Collect data on progress towards personal goals, behavior patterns, and health status to inform care plans and report to supervisory staff. Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate medication administration records. Provide caregiving support for children or adults with disabilities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment at all times. Drive clients safely to appointments or activities using personal or agency vehicles, maintaining compliance with all driving safety standards. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Background in special education, behavioral health, or social work enhances your ability to support diverse needs effectively. Home and community care experience demonstrates your capability to provide comprehensive support outside of institutional settings. Familiarity with assisting clients with ADLs and implementing behavior management techniques is essential. Knowledge of medication administration protocols ensures safe and compliant care delivery. Strong communication skills are vital for collaborating with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
