The location is travel is primarily in the South and Southwest Metro including: Burnsville Bloomington Rosemount Apple Valley Maple Plain Must have active driver's license and insurance with reliable transportation and be willing to transport clients in your own vehicle Independent Living Skills/In Home Support Specialist Job Description In Home Supports with training is direct training from a staff person to address the identified skill development needs of a person in the areas of: Communication skills Community living and mobility Interpersonal skills Reduction/elimination of challenging behavior Self care Sensory/motor development involved in acquiring functional skills. Examples of job duties: Teaching people with disabilities how to budget their money Teaching how to fill out paperwork for county benefits Teaching resources in their community Teaching how to cook Teaching how to ride the bus system Requirements for position: Must have experience working with people with disabilities Must be able to pass a DHS screening Must have active driver's license with reliable transportation and be willing to transport clients in your own vehicle Must be comfortable driving throughout the metro area Must have Car Insurance and be able to provide proof of insurance Comprehensive benefits package This position will be provided in the person's home or community setting.
