Overview: The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot , repair, and maintain very complex blow mold equipment and other high speed manufacturing equipment including conveyor systems, palletizing and strapping equipment, compressors, chillers and installing electrical and wiring systems. Perform electrical troubleshooting. Responsibilities Graham Packaging Company is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician based in Elwood, IN. This is a 3rd Shift position, working from 11pm - 7am, Sunday night through Friday morning. Weekly pay starting up to $38 per hour based on experience. Specific Duties may include performing the duties as electrical and mechanical specialist in the facility but are not limited to: Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyors systems, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, compressors, chillers, cooling towers, etc. Perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments. Conducts preventive maintenance programs and keeps accurate maintenance records Conduct periodic tests or checks of all electrical or electronic instruments. Identify and report potential equipment and building problems. Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and/or other electrical components. Use of electrical testing equipment to test electircal and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. Maintains, repairs, tests and installs electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Two year Associate Degree in electrical related field is a plus. A minimum of five years industrial maintenance electrician experience preferred. Requirements Maintenance Electricians are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position: Our facility is highly automated and the ideal candidate needs to possess: Intermediate knowledge of PLC function and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have experience in deciphering ladder logic. Experience with Rockwell Automation software. (RS Logix 5000 and 500) principles of PLC operation. Experience in Siemens automation software preferred (TIA portal, Simatic Manager) Proficient troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and complex mechanical equipment with the capability to diagnose using visual and auditory senses, test components and technical publications. A minimum of 5+ years experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment, plastics background a plus. Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred and/or combination of education and/or apprenticeship preferred. Ability to use shop equipment and tools (lathe, drill press, mill, cut-off saw, arbor press, hydraulic press, wrenches, chisels, grinders, drills, etc.) as well as analog and digital equipment, voltmeters, ohmmeters and other hand tools. Ability to read maintenance manuals, schematics, drawings, parts manuals, catalogs and other maintenance literature. Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Project management skills with the ability to see a project through to completion. Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
