Alpa Pools & Spas is looking to hire an Initial Vacuum Technician to join our seasonal service team as soon as possible. This position is responsible for performing the first major cleaning after a pool opening, including vacuuming the pool to waste using our company equipment, brushing, skimming, emptying baskets, balancing pool water, and making sure the pool system is running properly. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, able to work outdoors, and comfortable working independently throughout the day. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform initial vacuum service after pool openings Vacuum pool debris to waste using company-supplied pump and equipment Brush pool walls, steps, tile line, and floor as needed Skim pool surface and remove debris Empty skimmer baskets, pump baskets, cleaner bags, and debris bags Test and balance pool water using BioGuard pool chemicals Add chemicals as directed based on water test results and company procedures Check that pool equipment is running properly after service Report any visible equipment issues, leaks, or concerns to the office Set mechanical time clocks and/or automation schedules when needed Take service photos and document completed work Keep company vehicle, equipment, and supplies organized Communicate clearly with office staff and management Requirements Must have a valid and clean driver’s license Must be able to safely drive a company vehicle Must be reliable and able to arrive on time each day Must be able to work outdoors in seasonal weather conditions Must be able to lift and carry pool equipment, hoses, pumps, and chemical containers Must be comfortable working around swimming pool equipment Pool service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions Must be professional and respectful when working at customers’ properties Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who: Takes pride in clean, completed work Can work independently once trained Pays attention to small details Communicates issues clearly instead of guessing Is comfortable with physical outdoor work Wants seasonal work with the opportunity to grow within a swimming pool company Schedule / Position Length This is a seasonal position that begins as soon as possible and runs through approximately the middle of June , depending on workload, and the pool opening schedule. This position requires a 6-day work week, Monday through Saturday . Saturdays are required during the spring opening season. Some longer days may be required during peak weeks to complete scheduled initial vacuum services. Weather and workload may affect the daily schedule.
