Position Overview Join the Old Louisville Stay (OLS) family of Inns as a Traditional Innkeeper, a full-time onsite role responsible for supporting all aspects of day-to-day innkeeping, guest services, and hospitality operations at one of our historic bed and breakfast properties. This is a hands-on hospitality position that combines guest service, housekeeping, property presentation, breakfast service, and operational support. The Innkeeper plays a central role in maintaining an exceptional guest experience and ensuring the inn consistently reflects OLS quality and presentation standards. Successful candidates take pride in hospitality, cleanliness, organization, professionalism, and creating a welcoming environment for guests. This role requires strong attention to detail, initiative, responsiveness, and the ability to work collaboratively within a hospitality-focused team environment. Onsite living is required as part of this position. Core Responsibilities Guest Services & Hospitality Serve as a primary point of contact for guests before arrival, during their stay, and at departure. Deliver warm, professional, attentive, and responsive hospitality consistent with the standards of a luxury historic inn. Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, requests, concerns, and urgent property matters. Communicate check-in instructions, parking information, property guidelines, breakfast details, and local recommendations. Maintain a polished, guest-focused presence throughout the property. Address guest concerns calmly, professionally, and with a solution-oriented mindset. Help create a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable guest experience. Traditional Innkeeping & Housekeeping Perform hands-on daily cleaning and turnover of a minimum of two (2) guest rooms per workday, along with additional rooms or areas as operationally necessary. Maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards throughout guest rooms, bathrooms, common areas, kitchens, porches, stairways, dining areas, and exterior spaces. Ensure linens, amenities, décor, and furnishings are consistently maintained to OLS standards. Conduct detailed inspections of guest rooms and common areas prior to guest arrival. Identify and communicate maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, damaged items, or operational needs promptly. Assist with laundry coordination, deep cleans, inventory organization, seasonal resets, and overall operational readiness. Grounds & Property Presentation Help maintain exterior areas, porches, walkways, patios, entrances, and guest-facing outdoor spaces in a neat and welcoming condition. Remove leaves, debris, snow, or ice as needed to support guest safety and property presentation. Monitor landscaping and grounds appearance and communicate maintenance needs proactively. Support overall curb appeal and presentation standards of the property. Breakfast Service & Food Safety Prepare, present, and support breakfast service in accordance with OLS standards. Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and organization before, during, and after service. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements. Accommodate guest dietary restrictions and allergies with professionalism and care. Operations & Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with ownership, leadership, maintenance personnel, housekeeping staff, and fellow team members. Use company systems, reservation platforms, scheduling tools, messaging applications, and operational processes accurately and consistently. Assist with special events, holiday decorating, guest experiences, and operational support as needed. Communicate proactively regarding guest concerns, maintenance issues, operational needs, or supply shortages. Follow all OLS policies, procedures, quality standards, and service expectations. Expectations & Standards Exceptional attention to detail and cleanliness is required. Strong personal pride in hospitality, organization, and presentation. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and identify operational needs proactively. Professional appearance, communication, and demeanor at all times. Flexibility to support operational needs during weekends, holidays, peak occupancy periods, and occasional after-hours guest or property matters.
