Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Registered Clinical Dietitian to join our team. In this role, you will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients, develop nutrition-related care plans, and provide nutrition education to staff, children, and families. Schedule: Monday - Friday, generally 8am - 5pm What You'll Do Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Perform comprehensive, individualized nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process, according to the Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care for RDN’s. Implement the Nutrition Care Process to ensure individual health/nutritional goals are established, monitored and achieved. Recommend/prescribe nutrition-related diets, diet modifications, nutrition support regimens for clients as directed within the organizational/state regulations. Provide developmentally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to clients and their families. Nutrition Education Instruct children/clients and their families, physician and/or healthcare personnel in principles of nutrition and recommended modifications. Counsel children/clients and their families on making recommended changes to improve their quality of life. Advise children and their families on nutrition principles, dietary plans and modifications, and food selection and preparation. Dietary Oversight Formulate individualized menus for therapeutic diets as indicated. Coordinate with Dietary Department to ensure adequate staff training and implementation of safe and accurate meals. Master's program preferred. Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Academy for Nutrition and Dietetics. Three years of full-time work as a Registered Dietitian in a healthcare setting required. Pediatric experience required. Must be a Licensed Dietitian with the State of Iowa. Board certification as a specialist in pediatric nutrition (CSP) preferred.
