Description Buckeye Body and Equipment is looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined Installation Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing final-stage vehicle conversions on commercial trucks (Class 1–6), including installing flatbeds, service bodies, dump bodies, and other vocational equipment. You’ll also outfit commercial fleet vehicles with in-service packages such as telecommunication systems, safety equipment, lighting, and other work-ready components. Key Responsibilities: Install flatbeds, service bodies, dump bodies, cranes, liftgates, and other upfit components on cab chassis and pickups. Install commercial fleet in-service packages such as camera systems, GPS/telematics, safety lights, ladder racks, and custom equipment. Read and interpret work orders, installation guides, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Use hand and power tools to perform mechanical, electrical, and light fabrication work. Perform quality checks to ensure all installations are safe, clean, and functional. Move and position vehicles safely within the shop as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area and take pride in craftsmanship. Communicate with supervisors and team members to resolve any installation challenges. Qualifications Qualifications: Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable working on trucks and vehicle systems. Previous experience in automotive, truck, or equipment assembly or installation is a plus. Welding and fabrication skills are a bonus but not required. Must own basic hand tools; specialty tools and equipment will be provided. Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and technical manuals. Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and technologies. Strong work ethic, team-oriented attitude, and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and use of ladders. Comfortable working in a hands-on, shop environment. Why Join Us?
