Salary: $48,098.00 - $84,558.00 Annually Location : Kanawha County, WV Job Type: Full-Time Permanent Job Number: INS26033 PSA Department: Revenue - Insurance Commission Opening Date: 05/04/2026 Closing Date: 5/13/2026 11:59 PM Eastern LOCATION OF VACANCY: KANAWHA Nature of Work This job opportunity is not in the classified service and is not covered by the West Virginia Division of Personnel merit system Division: Workers Compensation Unit Office Location: 900 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302 This program is a combined insurance program providing workers' compensation coverage for 100 West Virginia state agencies, boards and commissions. The program includes over 900 locations throughout the state and provides coverage for approximately 25,000 state employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties: Manages the third-party administrator contracts for the various workers' compensation claim funds. Plans, assigns, directs, reviews and coordinates the work of the Workers' Compensation Unit (WCU) staff. Establishes performance measures and goals, provides periodic evaluations of each staff member's progress toward the goals and recommends corrective action, if necessary. Ensures that the work performed by staff members is in accordance with agency policy, rules, regulations, etc. Reviews, approves and signs payment agreements, liens and lien releases, fine reductions/waivers and Old Fund premium compromises. Reviews applications to the Uninsured Employers' Fund and provides a "gatekeeping" recommendation to senior staff.
