As an Intake Technician, you will be working with members of the public to process misconduct allegations against members of the Oakland Police Department. We work to ensure that police services are delivered to community members in a respectful, ethical, constitutional, and honest manner. The Internal Affairs Bureau strives to maintain the community’s trust and confidence in our policing services and as a public agency.We are looking for someone who is: A Composed Advocate. What you will be typically responsible for: Receiving and processing complaints regarding alleged violations of the Oakland Police Department’s policies. Complaints may be received by telephone, in person, email, or written correspondence.Assisting community members seeking information and resources available from the City of Oakland. Conducting interviews with community members to document their concerns. Attaining, collaborating, and processing data provided by the complainant. Composing electronic and hard copy case files documenting allegations and service complaints.Maintaining and managing computer programs and files containing confidential records and reports.
