About Umbrella Security Systems Umbrella Security Systems designs, installs, services, and supports commercial security systems for businesses and organizations across Chicago, Greater Chicagoland, and Northern Illinois. Our solutions include video surveillance, access control, intrusion alarms, intercom systems, monitoring, and integrated commercial security systems. We serve commercial facilities, schools, warehouses, industrial sites, nonprofits, property managers, and other business organizations. Position Summary: The Integrated Security Consultant is responsible for developing and managing commercial security opportunities from first contact through proposal, close, and long-term customer relationship management. This is a consultative B2B role. The right person will help business owners, facility managers, operations leaders, property managers, and other decision-makers understand their security needs and choose practical solutions that fit their facility, budget, and long-term goals. Key Responsibilities Develop new commercial security opportunities throughout Greater Chicagoland. Build relationships with business owners, facility managers, property managers, schools, nonprofits, contractors, vendors, and referral partners. Respond to inbound leads and document how each prospect found Umbrella. Conduct discovery calls and site walkthroughs to understand customer needs, facility risks, and project goals. Consult on security cameras, access control, alarms, intercoms, monitoring, and integrated systems. • Identify decision-makers, budgets, timelines, needs, and project requirements. Work with internal team members to develop accurate scopes, recommendations, and proposals. Review proposals with customers whenever possible, either in person, by phone, or by screen share. Follow up consistently on open proposals and active opportunities. Maintain accurate notes, next steps, lead sources, and opportunity details. Nurture existing customers, past customers, referrals, and future opportunities. Represent Umbrella with honesty, competence, and professionalism. **What Success Looks Like New Business Development** You create and manage real commercial security opportunities. Pipeline Accuracy Opportunities, notes, next steps, and lead sources stay current. Customer Trust Buyers see you as a helpful advisor, not a pushy salesperson. Long-Term Relationships Customers, referrals, and future opportunities are consistently nurtured. Required Qualifications Experience in B2B sales, consulting, account management, business development, or a related customer-facing role. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak professionally with business owners, managers, and decision-makers. Strong follow-up habits and attention to detail. Comfortable conducting site visits and documenting customer needs. Ability to ask good questions, listen carefully, and recommend practical next steps. Comfortable using CRM or sales tracking tools. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally throughout Greater Chicagoland. Preferred Qualifications Experience in commercial security, low voltage, access control, video surveillance, fire/life safety, electrical, IT, telecom, construction, property management, or facility services. Familiarity with commercial buildings, schools, warehouses, industrial facilities, or multi-tenant properties. Experience selling technical systems or service-based solutions. Existing professional network in the Chicagoland business community.
