Intellectual Property Counsel

A company is looking for a Counsel, Intellectual Property. Key Responsibilities Lead patent strategy and portfolio management, including identifying patentable inventions and supporting competitive analyses Guide inventors through the disclosure process and manage outside patent counsel for drafting and prosecution Contribute to patent education and serve as a primary contact for open-source license questions Required Qualifications 4+ years of intellectual property practice experience, including in-house counsel experience Substantial experience with patent drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management for software and/or AI-related inventions Working knowledge of open-source licensing and experience counseling engineering teams J.D. with active state bar admission or eligibility for in-house registration; USPTO registration is a plus Experience advising on AI or ML product implementations is a strong plus
