Interim School Principal General Summary of the Position St. Pius X Catholic School is a ministry of St. Pius X Catholic Parish. St. Pius X School falls directly under the administration of the Pastor of the parish. St. Pius X School is a parochial school within the Catholic School System of the Diocese of Dallas. The Principal at St. Pius X School oversees and coordinates all academic aspects of the school, including management and formation of teachers and staff members, development of curriculum, oversight of student discipline, coordination or recruitment and retention activities, management of student interventions, program design and coordination and spiritual guidance and growth of all members of the school. The School Principal is a member of the Parish Staff of St. Pius X Catholic Parish and may be expected to undertake other duties as related to school and parish coordination as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Hiring and management of teachers and staff members Development and implementation of school vision and goals Development of curriculum Administrative duties and record keeping Teacher training, formation and development Coordination and recruitment of volunteers Relationship management with parents, students and the surrounding community Works with marketing and merchandise groups to promote St. Pius X Catholic School Oversight of school volunteer committees Oversight of teacher-level committees Scheduling Textbook selection and updates Financial oversight of elementary school purchases Updates and maintains online presence and information regarding elementary school Collaborates closely with St. Pius X School Advisory Council Monthly reports and presentations to various committees Meets with the Pastor on a regular basis (weekly) THE OPPORTUNITY St. Pius X Catholic School announces an opening for interim principal in the 2026 - 2027 School Year. This leadership position requires a passionate, educationally oriented, and spiritually led leader grounded in the Catholic faith, who will embrace the school's mission to "recognize the value of each student and to challenge the individual to be a responsible, self-disciplined, and life-long learner in the service of the Church and society." This leader will possess and carry out a vision of an outstanding 21st-century education within a robust Catholic environment. The ideal candidate should bring a proven ability to execute programs that attract and retain families. Therefore, our future principal must be a strong yet compassionate decision-maker and a leader with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills. LOCATION AND EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT Established in 1955 as part of St. Pius X Catholic Parish, St. Pius X Catholic School is a PreK3 - 8 school located in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas ( www.spxdallasschool.org ). The school uses a cross-curricular approach to instruction as recommended by the Catholic Schools Office. To enhance teaching and learning experiences, various clubs and yearly activities are provided to engage students and parents in the life of the school. One of the ways we enhance the teaching and learning experience for students is through the school's SmartLab. St. Pius X Catholic School participates in the Church's mission to evangelize and to nurture the life of Christian discipleship. The educational focus is shaped by a concern for the holistic development of students in a faith centered environment. OUR STRUCTURE The school falls directly under the administration of the church's pastor, who, in coordination with parish staff, works collaboratively with the principal, school faculty, and staff to meet the school's day-to-day mission. As the leader of all educational efforts, the principal leads by example in overseeing and coordinating all academic aspects of the school, including management and formation of teachers and staff members, development of curriculum, student recruitment and retention activities, management of student interventions, program design, student discipline, and coordination of growth and spiritual guidance of all members of the school. The minimum requirements for candidates: being a practicing Catholic; having an advanced degree in educational administration/leadership or Principal certification (that may be in progress); five years of administrative experience, preferably in a Catholic school.
