AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Project Architect to join our Buildings + Places business line in Houston or Dallas Texas. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead design efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver innovative solutions for a diverse range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and municipal sectors. The ideal Project Architect IV candidate will bring a strong architectural background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating impactful spaces. This position requires a proven ability to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure design excellence throughout all project phases. Spearhead the design process for projects across commercial, industrial, logistics, and interiors sectors, ensuring innovative and client-focused solutions. Project Coordination: Oversee all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related communications. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards, while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy in project documentation. Creative and analytical thinker capable of addressing complex design challenges. Commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of project delivery. Bachelor’s Architecture from an NAAB-accredited professional undergraduate degree. 6+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Licensed Architect in the state of Texas. Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, as well as visualization tools like Enscape or Lumion. Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices. Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program. 8+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Strong design portfolio showcasing innovative and impactful architectural designs and proven experience in spearheading design for projects. Experience in municipal, commercial, and industrial projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.
