About Us: Bonus Round Recovery is a growing Substance Use Disorder (SUD/AOD) outpatient treatment program specializing in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders . We are committed to providing compassionate, structured, and clinically sound care to individuals in recovery, while fostering a strong, supportive team environment. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Intern Therapist to facilitate group therapy sessions within our co-occurring outpatient program . This role is ideal for an intern looking to gain hands-on experience in both substance use and mental health treatment while working toward licensure in a supportive clinical setting. What You’ll Do: Facilitate 4–5 group therapy sessions per week focused on SUD/AOD and co-occurring disorders Create a safe, structured, and engaging therapeutic environment Collaborate with the clinical team on treatment planning and client progress Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in alignment with program standards and compliance requirements Participate in team meetings and clinical discussions Schedule: Monday–Friday Flexible scheduling based on availability Approx. 4–5 groups per week Compensation: Entry-level intern pay (aligned with industry minimum for interns in San Diego) Clinical supervision hours included What We’re Looking For: Currently enrolled in a Master’s program (Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field) Registered or in the process of registering as an Associate (AMFT/ASW/APCC) in California (preferred, depending on stage) Interest or experience in substance use disorder (SUD/AOD) treatment and co-occurring mental health care Strong communication and group facilitation skills Ability to maintain professional, compliant, and timely documentation standards Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Why Bonus Round Recovery: Supportive and collaborative team environment Supervision hours included to support your professional growth Hands-on experience in co-occurring outpatient treatment Clear opportunity for growth within the organization based on performance, reliability, and clinical development Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in clients’ recovery journeys If you’re looking for a place to grow clinically, be supported, and do meaningful work in recovery, we’d love to connect.
