Job Description
There’s Always a Seat at Our Bar The Lagunitas Brewing Company began on a kitchen stove in Northern California in 1993 and has always looked to the future – whether supporting local communities by turning beer into money for the cause, or fueling stories, songs, and experiences with our IPA. Wherever you go: Beer Speaks, People Mumble. The Gist This internship is for someone who’s down to roll up their sleeves and help get our wastewater and reuse systems in tip top shape. You’ll be in the mix updating process docs, wrangling data, tracking moving parts, and teaming up with operators, vendors, and brewery folks to help troubleshoot what’s busted and keep things flowing. We’re lookin’ for a current student or recent grad in mechanical, chemical, environmental, or process engineering who’s organized, handy with Excel, and not afraid of the shopfloor. Who We’re Lookin’ For Must be currently enrolled, or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a vocational program, college, community college, or university Must have a cumulative GPA over 3.0 Must be at least 21 years of age Must be available for full duration of the internship: 3 months June 23 – Sept 23 (approx.) 40 hours/ week What You’ll Do Project Overview: Reviewing and updating P&IDs to reflect current field conditions Coordinating with production, maintenance, OEMs, chemical vendors, and HUB resources to schedule troubleshooting and support activities Compiling and organizing operational/shopfloor data to support vendor analysis and root cause efforts Tracking action items and helping drive follow-through across the different workstreams Supporting efforts to bring the WWTP and reuse systems back to basic condition and stable operation Project Objectives: Improved system uptime and operational stability Accurate and updated process documentation Better coordination between operations, vendors, and technical resources Improved visibility to system performance through organized data collection and reporting What We’re Lookin’ For Mechanical, chemical, environmental, or process engineering coursework Strong organizational and communication skills Comfort working cross-functionally with operators, maintenance, and external vendors Basic understanding of pumps, valves, instrumentation, and process flow systems Strong Excel/data organization capabilities A hands-on approach and willingness to spend time on the shopfloor Key Relationships Reports to Director of Brewing, Utilities & Innovation Partners with Wastewater Technicians and Brewing Team Physical Stuff Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for majority of work schedule. Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions in a production environment.
