Job Description
Can you ship a case of cyanoacrylate adhesive to an Amazon FBA warehouse in Australia--by sea, with full IMDG documentation--when your usual carrier just dropped hazmat service? If that question makes you nod and start thinking through the answer, keep reading.If it makes you uncomfortable, this role isn't for you.Starbond is a Torrance-based manufacturer of high-performance adhesives sold through Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart, and a B2B dealer network.Most of our products are classified as Dangerous Goods.We're expanding internationally, and we need someone who can actually move hazmat across borders--not just talk about it.What you'll own You'll be the person responsible for getting our Dangerous Goods products from our Torrance facility to customers and FBA warehouses worldwide.That means:Shipping hazmat internationally by both air (IATA) and sea (IMDG), including the documentation, packaging certification, and carrier coordination that goes with it Sending hazmat shipments into Amazon FBA warehouses outside the US--UK, EU, Australia, Canada--working within each marketplace's specific hazmat rules and partnered-carrier limitations Solving the problem when a lane breaks:a carrier discontinues hazmat service, a country implements a new restriction, an FBA warehouse changes its acceptance criteria.You research alternatives, qualify new freight forwarders, and find the route that works Domestic FBA, LTL/FTL for B2B dealers, and standard ecommerce fulfillment for Shopify/eBay/Walmart Export documentation:Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Multimodal DG Declarations, SDS management Freight invoice auditing and packing optimization with our warehouse team What we need to see on your resume You've personally prepared and shipped Dangerous Goods declarations for international air and ocean freight.Not supported or assisted with--prepared and shipped.You've sent hazmat inventory into at least one non-US Amazon FBA warehouse and can describe the workflow from memory.You've had a shipping lane break on you and you fixed it.You can name the carrier, the problem, and what you did.IATA DGR certification is required (or you can get it within 60 days).IMDG familiarity strongly preferred.2years in logistics, but the years matter less than the specific experience above.Compensation:$25-$30/hour DOE.On-site in Torrance.To apply, send your resume along with a short note (3-5 sentences) describing the most difficult international hazmat shipment you've personally executed.Applications without that note will not be reviewed.Pay:$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Application Question(s):Describe the most difficult international hazmat shipment you've personally executed.Ability to Commute:Torrance, CA 90501 (Required) Work Location:In person.
