Description Are you detail-oriented with an ownership mindset and a knack for keeping both people and things organized and running smoothly? If so, our Inventory and Operations Specialist role may be perfect for you! Based in Champaign, Illinois, this Fairlawn team member will be responsible for managing and maintaining all inventory housed at our Maintenance Facility and coordinating the initial daily assignment of work orders to the team. The Inventory Specialist will report to the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will embody Fairlawn’s core values: Be Kind, Own It, Be Flexible, and Always Improve. What will you do? Exemplify the core values of Be Kind, Be Flexible, Own It, and Always Improve Manage and maintain inventory at the maintenance facility, ensuring supplies are accurately tracked, properly labeled, and neatly organized Receive deliveries and restock materials to keep inventory levels sufficient for daily maintenance operations Conduct regular inventory audits to verify quantities, identify discrepancies, and maintain up-to-date records Order and distribute supplies for maintenance technicians and facility needs, ensuring timely fulfillment and cost awareness Coordinate daily work order assignments for the maintenance team and adjust allocations as priorities shift throughout the day Assist with office coordination, including ordering office supplies, preparing for trainings, and helping plan small on-site events or celebrations Oversee key room organization and tracking to ensure proper security and accountability Pivot, roll up your sleeves and jump in where needed! Plus, the process is rewarding, and the results are great for your career Requirements: Who you are – We’d love to hear from you if you have the following: 1–2 years of experience in inventory management with excellent organizational skills Proficiency in Excel and other digital tools to manage and track data efficiently A positive attitude, strong customer service mindset, and collaborative, team-oriented approach A high school diploma or equivalent Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely use a dolly or pallet jack Reliable and dependable, with availability from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Embody our core values: Be Kind, Be Flexible, Own It and Always Improve Some additional things you will need: Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation Availability to work longer hours and weekends during department and company peak seasons Must be able to complete the physical functions of the position, not limited to the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer and extensive keyboarding.
