Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Irrigation & Lighting Installation Lead to spearhead our installation projects and drive our quoting process. This role requires a high-level technical expert who can design efficient watering systems, create beautiful landscape lighting layouts, accurately quote jobs, and lead a crew of technicians and laborers to execute the project flawlessly. Responsibilities: Meet with clients to assess their property, perform comprehensive system audits, and discuss their irrigation and exterior lighting needs. Create accurate estimates, bids, and material lists for new installations, lighting packages, and major system overhauls. Design and lay out custom low-voltage landscape lighting systems, ensuring proper fixture placement (uplighting, path lighting, wash lighting, etc.). Perform voltage drop calculations to properly size lighting wires and transformers. Lead, train, and manage installation crews (laborers and junior techs) on job sites to ensure work meets quality standards and timelines. Install, troubleshoot, and program complex systems, including 2-wire irrigation systems, advanced smart controllers, pump stations, and smart lighting hubs. Ensure all installations comply with local codes and water/energy conservation best practices. Requirements: 5+ years of advanced experience in both irrigation and landscape lighting, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership, estimating, or project management role. Expert-level knowledge of advanced hydraulics, complex irrigation wiring (including 2-wire), and low-voltage lighting design principles. Proficiency using quoting, estimating, or CRM software. Excellent sales, customer service, and leadership skills. Preferred: Industry certifications (e.g., CIT, CLIA, or AOLP - Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals) or a backflow testing certification.
