Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs. We’re hiring an Irrigation Supervisor to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park! Job Summary: As an Irrigation Supervisor, you would supervise, maintain and manage irrigation systems. This would include managing irrigation performance by observation of turf and plant material conditions and implement corrective action for over-watering. In addition, the Irrigation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing staff and team members with professionalism, following the Xanterra standards of conduct. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Season Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks) Pay: $21.65/hr Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include early starts, weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Oasis at Death Valley? Responsibilities You will work directly for the Grounds Superintendent and be the front-line supervisor. Supervise irrigation staff and assign daily tasks under the direction of the ground’s superintendent. Help interview, hire, train, and evaluate team members. Develop a preventative maintenance program for all irrigation areas. Design irrigation systems that enhance the overall experience and the overall presentation of the property. Maintain assigned irrigation area. Repair pipe breaks (PVC and Poly) Troubleshoot malfunctioning sprinkler heads. Identify and repair electrical problems. Maintain, Identify, and correct Irrigation Clock problems. Spot-water dry areas Document daily activities; maintain accurate repair records. Conduct continual visual inspections of areas. Familiarize irrigation systems through irrigation plans and as-builts. Assist with irrigation projects. Assist in irrigation system start up and winterizing. Assist with daily ground maintenance. Apply preventative maintenance programs for maximum irrigation efficiency. Maintain clean and organized workstations in the irrigation parts room and assigned equipment. Recognize safety hazards and act accordingly. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees. Qualifications Knowledge of buildings and trades use tools Knowledge of Irrigation systems, Torro Links experience preffered Turf Management degree prefered Supervisory principles and practices Must hold a current state driver’s license. Physical Requirements include: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to shoulder height. Must be able to withstand working in extreme summer temperatures.
