The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Program Management and Administration is looking for a long-term nonpermanent IT Client Support Specialist 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving! Pay is based on the location of the selected applicant; salaries will be discussed at the time of the interview. Anchorage: $2,646.00/Bi-weekly Juneau: $2,778.00/Bi-weekly What you will be doing: DOT&PF is recruiting for a full-time, long-term, nonpermanent position. This position will accrue personal leave, enjoy 11 paid holidays a year, as well as have the option of health insurance and other benefits. Incumbent will provide technology support services primarily for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) within the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF). This position is responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, tracking and resolving hardware and software problems. This includes Windows Desktop Platforms, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, Endpoint Management Software & Solutions, Microsoft Teams, VoIP Phones, Network & Server Equipment, Microcomputer PC Laptop & Tablets, Printers/MFP’s, Cabling, Imaging, Configuring & Deploying Workstations, Mobile Devices and other technologies. As a technical leader, the IT Client Support Specialist collaborates with other Specialists or Supervisor to direct, mentor, assist and train Microcomputer Network Technicians 1/2. This position assists technicians in troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving desktop computer and network problems. Works in accordance with Agency and SOA standards, procedures and policies, and effectively manages time and task prioritization. You will work closely with others to develop an understanding of the techniques and procedures for troubleshooting desktop computers, networks, printers and peripheral devices; become familiar with DOT&PF and OIT unique technical support and service delivery expectations across both OIT and DOT&PF technology Service Catalog; become proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and procedures; and utilize remote access tools as appropriate to remotely diagnose and resolve issues.
