Brief Job Overview This position is responsible for the management of IT projects involving the development and implementation of business processes in technologies to meet identified business needs, acquiring, and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. This role involves the adoption and adaptation of project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. The IT Project Manager Has The Following Responsibilities Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of medium-scale and large-scale projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines). Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to the success of the project. Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven)approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure. Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets, and are signed off. Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes appropriate action if team performance deviates from agreed tolerances. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders. Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefits. Leads and manages projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners. Manages scope and risk to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters. Monitors, controls, and validates financial forecast, resources, and capital costs against the project budget and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures in alignment with project stakeholders’ expectations.
