Job Description
Position Title: Janitor / Custodial Worker Job Type: Part-Time Location: Potlatch Palouse Ranger District Position Overview seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to provide cleaning and sanitation services for federally controlled facilities at the Palouse Ranger District. The selected individual will support daily and scheduled janitorial operations to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment for government personnel and visitors. Duties and Responsibilities The Janitor will be responsible for performing cleaning and custodial services including, but not limited to: Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, countertops, and fixtures Vacuuming carpets, floor mats, hallways, offices, and common areas Sweeping and mopping linoleum and hard-surface floors Emptying trash and replacing liners in waste containers Cleaning doors, windows, blinds, walls, wood paneling, vents, and baseboards Steam cleaning carpets and cleaning interior/exterior windows during scheduled deep-cleaning periods Maintaining kitchens, break areas, refrigerators, microwaves, and other shared spaces Reporting maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns to management Completing inspection checklists and maintaining cleaning records Following safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment Qualifications Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning equipment and supplies Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Must maintain a professional appearance and conduct Ability to pass federal background/security requirements if required Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and disinfecting procedures preferred f5XzHkbEVd
