Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications that support fraud detection and anti-money laundering processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements related to fraud and AML and translate them into technical solutions. Implement, test, and optimize application features to improve detection accuracy, performance, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing Java applications, ensuring timely fixes and minimal impact on users. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to development standards. Contribute to the documentation of system designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance system functionality and efficiency. Essential Skills Proficiency in Java programming for backend application development. Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting applications related to fraud detection or anti-money laundering (AML) processes. Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and resolving application issues. Familiarity with secure coding practices and an understanding of risk and compliance considerations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working within financial services, risk management, or compliance-focused environments. Knowledge of fraud detection methodologies, AML concepts, or related regulatory frameworks. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Interest in staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in Java development and financial prevention. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rockville, MD. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $12.00 - $123.00/hr.
