About the Role The Jira Administrator is responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining Atlassian Jira and Confluence environments to support enterprise workflows, ITSM processes, Agile delivery, and cross functional collaboration. This role combines hands on administration, automation development, integration work, and governance to ensure scalable, reliable, and user-friendly systems. Responsibilities Administer, configure, and optimize Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence across multiple teams and business units. Design and maintain workflows, screens, custom fields, permission schemes, notification schemes, and issue security. Build advanced automation using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner/Groovy, and REST APIs. Develop integrations with enterprise tools such as Okta, Slack, GitHub, Jenkins, and CMDB/ITAM platforms. Support ITSM processes (Incident, Request, Change, Problem) within Jira Service Management. Manage Atlassian Marketplace apps (ScriptRunner, Assets/Insight, eazyBI, Tempo, etc.). Perform system audits, data cleanup, performance tuning, and governance enforcement. Translate business requirements into scalable Jira configurations and technical solutions. Support Atlassian Cloud or Data Center migrations, consolidations, and upgrades. Partner with Agile teams to enhance boards, backlogs, reporting, and delivery workflows. Create dashboards and reports using JQL, eazyBI, PowerBI, or Tableau. Provide user training, documentation, and best practice guidance. Qualifications 5+ years of Jira Administration in enterprise or mid-size environments. Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4, especially Incident, Change, and Request. Hands on experience with Jira Automation, ScriptRunner/Groovy, and REST APIs. Proficiency in JQL, workflow design, permission schemes, and governance. Experience administering Confluence. Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Jira configurations. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Required Skills Experience with Atlassian Cloud Migration or Data Center environments. Familiarity with ITAM/CMDB platforms (ServiceNow, Device42, Lansweeper, Snow, Flexera). Experience supporting Jira Service Management (ITSM) implementations. Knowledge of integration tools (Okta, Slack, GitHub, Jenkins). Experience with reporting tools such as eazyBI, PowerBI, or Tableau. Understanding of Atlassian governance, security, and compliance best practices.
