Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and relationship-driven Job Developer to help participants explore career interests, connect with inclusive employers, and move toward competitive, meaningful employment. Position Overview The Job Developer helps participants turn career goals into real opportunities. This role focuses on building employer relationships, identifying job matches, supporting internships and job placements, and helping participants gain confidence in the workplace. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys community engagement, advocating for inclusion, and helping individuals with disabilities access meaningful employment opportunities. Key Responsibilities Participant-Focused Employment Support Meet with participants to understand their interests, strengths, skills, support needs, and employment goals Assist participants with resumes, job applications, interview preparation, and workplace readiness Support participants in identifying jobs or internships that match their goals and abilities Help participants build confidence, professionalism, and selfadvocacy skills Employer Outreach and Job Development Build relationships with local businesses and community employers Educate employers on the value of hiring individuals with disabilities Identify paid internships, job trials, and competitive employment opportunities Conduct job site visits to understand employer needs and workplace expectations Match participants with appropriate employment opportunities Coordination and Team Collaboration Work closely with Job Coaches, Program Managers, families, support teams, and referral partners Communicate participant progress, barriers, and employment opportunities clearly and consistently Help ensure smooth transitions from internships or job placements into longterm employment support Participate in team meetings and employment planning discussions Documentation and Accountability Maintain accurate notes, employer contacts, job development activities, and participant progress updates Track job leads, applications, interviews, placements, and employment outcomes Complete required documentation in a timely and professional manner Support program goals related to placement, retention, and participant satisfaction What Success Looks Like Participants are connected to jobs or internships that match their strengths and interests Employers feel supported and open to creating inclusive opportunities Participants gain confidence and make meaningful progress toward employment goals Support teams have the information needed to help participants succeed Employment outcomes are documented clearly and consistently Qualifications Experience in job development, supported employment, workforce development, vocational services, recruiting, business development, or disability services Strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills Comfort reaching out to employers and representing Elevate Spectrum in the community A personcentered and strengthsbased approach Strong organization, followthrough, and documentation skills Ability to work independently in the community Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally Commitment to disability inclusion, employment equity, and meaningful community participation.
