About This Role JOURNEYMAN LINEMEN WANTED MULITPLE STATES The Journeyman Lineman is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems, including overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines. This position plays a critical role in supporting utility and infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Probst Electric’s high standards for quality and safety. What You'll Do As a Journeyman Lineman, you’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps communities powered. In this position, you will: Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines and equipment. Install, replace, and maintain transformers, switches, conductors, insulators, and other system components. String, sag, and connect wire; set poles; climb structures; and operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks as required. Follow all Probst Electric, Quanta Services, OSHA, DOT, and client safety standards on every job. Diagnose and troubleshoot line outages, faults, and service interruptions. Read and interpret blueprints, staking sheets, and line diagrams to ensure accurate project execution. Operate digger derricks, cranes, pullers, tensioners, and other specialty line‑construction equipment. Mentor and support Apprentice Linemen, promoting strong skills, safe work habits, and team culture. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job‑site activities. Work in a variety of outdoor field environments and weather conditions, often in fast‑moving or high‑demand situations. Required What You'll Bring Journeyman Lineman Certification from a recognized DOL or equivalent apprenticeship program. Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain) with a clean driving record. Experience in transmission, distribution, or substation line work. Proven commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship. Ability to climb, lift, and perform physically demanding tasks safely. Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed for project demands. Preferred Experience with energized (“hot line”) work using hot sticks or rubber glove methods. Familiarity with underground systems and conduit installation. Current OSHA 10/ET&D, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant safety certifications.
