Job Summary We are seeking motivated and skilled Journeyman Painters and Paint Helpers to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. As a Journeyman Painter, you will bring expertise in surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques, ensuring projects meet precise standards and client expectations. Paint helpers will assist experienced painters with prep work, cleanup, and basic painting tasks. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, or power tools on various surfaces including walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and fixtures Read blueprints and schematics to accurately execute painting plans aligned with project specifications Perform detailed trim carpentry and fixture installation to enhance finish quality Assist with demolition and renovation tasks such as framing, drywall installation, masonry work, and concrete finishing as needed Maintain safety standards by using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to construction site protocols Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for surface prep and painting tasks while ensuring proper maintenance of equipment Skills Extensive experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction painting techniques Knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and aesthetic consistency Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for precise project execution Skilled in the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanders, caulking guns, and measuring devices Familiarity with construction estimating processes to assist in project planning and material procurement Experience with industrial painting applications including airless spray systems and specialty coatings Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or material quantities Competence in carpentry tasks including trim carpentry, framing, fixture installation, restoration work, and remodeling projects Knowledge of plastering, stucco application, masonry work, welding (where applicable), and schematic interpretation for complex projects Ability to work safely on construction sites with experience in maintenance tasks across various building systems Handyman experience is a plus for versatile task completion on diverse projects Join our team to build a rewarding career where your craftsmanship makes a visible difference!
