ABOUT US Louisa's Electronics is a custom integration and low-voltage company serving Durango and Southwest Colorado for over 26 years. We design and install home technology systems including audio/video, networking, security, motorized shades, and lighting for residential clients and custom home builders. We are a small, close-knit team that works hard, helps each other, and takes pride in doing things the right way. WHAT THIS ROLE IS This is a hands-on, field-based position where you will work alongside experienced technicians on real job sites from day one. You will help install smart home and entertainment systems in custom homes while learning a skilled trade with long-term career potential. Over time, you will gain experience with networking, home automation, audio/video systems, security, lighting control, and smart home integration. As your skills develop, you will take on more responsibility and work toward becoming a full technician. We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone who shows up ready to work, pays attention, takes pride in doing things right, and wants to grow. Every day is different, and the work is hands-on and active. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Work alongside experienced technicians on installation projects for audio/video, networking, security, and structured wiring systems Assist with mounting TVs, speakers, cameras, racks, and other low-voltage equipment Assist with basic system setup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning as skills progress Learn to read wiring diagrams, plans, and system layouts during installations Run wire through walls, attics, and crawl spaces in new construction and retrofit projects Handle, transport, and stage equipment safely, including lifting up to 75 lbs and working at heights Represent Louisa's professionally with clients, builders, and other trades on job sites Pay attention to detail, follow direction carefully, and ask questions when needed Help with documentation, material organization, and end-of-day site wrap-up Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site WHAT SUCCEEDS HERE You show up on time and ready to work You take instruction well and pay attention to detail You care about doing clean, professional work You take ownership instead of waiting to be told every step You stay calm and solution-oriented when problems come up You are reliable, respectful, and motivated to improve REQUIREMENTS Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to pass a background check Physically capable of lifting, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, and working outdoors in varying conditions Reliable, punctual, and organized Professional attitude and respectful communication Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and basic technology tools NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED) Interest in technology, smart homes, audio/video, networking, or security Experience in construction, electrical, AV, networking, or other skilled trades Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or basic wiring Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Experience working directly with customers or on job sites Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits Employee discount Paid time off Professional development assistance Application Question(s): Tell us a little about yourself and why this role interests you.
